to SLV Irrigation District
San Luis Valley Irrigation District was organized December 10, 1908 under the Irrigation Act of 1905, and is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five elected members.The District headquarters are located in Saguache County, and the District comprises portions of Alamosa, Rio Grande, and Saguache Counties. The Rio Grande Reservoir, located near the headwaters of the Rio Grande in Hindsdale County, is also owned and operated by the San Luis Valley Irrigation District.The purpose of the District is to provide storage and distribution of irrigation water to landowners within the District boundaries.
