2019 Water Season Information and Updates
June 6, 2019:
Due to high reservoir release problems we are experiencing at the reservoir causing bank erosion towards the toe of the dam, we are going to have to maintain a lower release rate and store water available in priority to the canal under direct flow storage. The inflow to the reservoir is more than can be released at this time so we continue to store water unintentionally. The situation is being assessed and precautions are being taken to minimize erosion so we can begin making higher releases.
The state has requested that we store as much water available to the canal as possible under the direct flow storage decree. For now, we will maintain a minimum of 200.0 cfs in the canal starting today. The remainder will be stored in the reservoir to be delivered to the District at a later date when we are able to safely increase the release of the reservoir.
